John Coltrane - Ascension: Edition I & II (Verve Vault Series) Vinyl 2LP

Released on Impulse! Records in 1966, Coltrane's Ascension is a nearly 40-minute free-jazz and avant-garde performance produced by Bob Thiele. The June 28, 1965 recording session features an 11-musician ensemble including Freddie Hubbard, Dewey Johnson, Pharoah Sanders, Marion Brown, John Tchicai, Archie Shepp, McCoy Tyner, Art Davis, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones. This Verve Vault series release marks the first time both complete takes, "Edition I & II," are presented together on a 2-LP set, mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
