Ezra Feinberg - Soft Power Vinyl LP

Ezra Feinberg’s third album, Soft Power, finds the composer and guitarist joined by an impressive ensemble of collaborators, including Mary Lattimore, David Moore (Bing & Ruth), Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, and Robbie Lee. Defined by its rich melodies, looping figures, and ecstatic improvisations, Soft Power radiates a sense of transformation and inner strength, inviting the listener into a space of reflection and renewal.

A practicing psychoanalyst and former founding member of the San Francisco psychedelic collective Citay (Dead Oceans / Important Records), Feinberg now resides in New York’s Hudson River Valley. The album’s foundations were recorded in the late summer of 2020, later expanded in collaboration with John Thayer (Arp, Sunwatchers) in early 2021. Following Recumbent Speech (2020) and Pentimento and Others (2018), Soft Power continues Feinberg’s exploration of consciousness through sound.

Feinberg’s music carries a rare human warmth—his compositions guide the listener toward an awakened, receptive state, alive to subtle beauty. Soft Power serves as both personal mantra and shared offering, a luminous expression of empowerment rendered through tone and texture. Whispered though it may be, it speaks volumes.
