Suspended In Time Zine Issue 5: Francisco Pardorla
Suspended In Time is a series of zines exploring music and life by Brooklyn-based writer and academic Hua Hsu. Issue 5 tells the story of Francisco Pardorla, a part of the Filipino American mobile DJ scene that thrived throughout the Bay Area in the 1980s and 1990s. All copies signed by Hua Hsu.
Francisco was fourteen when he saw a local dj crew rock a party. they were filipino, just like him, and seeing them made him realize this was something he could do, too. within a few short years, he went from playing school dances and church functions to throwing some of the bay area’s biggest and best parties.
