The Postal Service is a long-distance collaboration between Ben Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie) and Jimmy Tamborello (known for his work as Dntel and on Beachwood Sparks’ Make the Cowboy Robots Cry). The two exchanged music between California and Washington, each adding layers and ideas until the album was complete. The result is a warm, melodic, and deeply human electronic record—imbued with emotion rarely found in the genre’s usual clicks and beeps. Additional vocals come courtesy of Jen Wood and Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis.
