Salami Rose Joe Louis - Lorings Vinyl LP

Lindsay Olsen, known professionally as Salami Rose Joe Louis, is a genre-traveling multi-instrumentalist, producer, and signee to Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder label. She returns on April 25th, 2025, with Lorings, her most personal album to date. Delightfully raw and heartfelt, the record finds SRJL exploring her vulnerability through a playful and sonically adventurous lens. “I was hoping to bypass the distillation process of overthinking outside perception,” she explains. “Each song feels like a significant section of my personality has been carved out and put on a platter for public consumption, which is a devastating thought [haha].” Crafted almost entirely on her Roland MV8800 workstation, Lorings features select collaborations with talented friends, including guitarist/producer Flanafi (her partner on 2024’s Sarah), Omari Jazz, Luke Titus, and Sergio Machado Plim.

Lead single “Inside” emerged from a tumultuous chapter in Olsen’s life, floating atop gently revolving Polybrute arpeggios in a sombre yet strikingly beautiful track. “By putting this song first on the record – and as the first single – I hope the songs that follow bring more levity and hope, leaving this heaviness behind,” she says. Throughout Lorings, Olsen tackles themes of imposter syndrome, falling in love, heartbreak, family, parenthood, and frustrations with the music industry. She also revisits familiar sonic territory, as heard on “Motorway (feat. Flanafi)”, while reflecting on a world grappling with cruelty and disconnection: “I feel like the world is being confronted with an enormous lack of humanity at the moment, and it feels impossible to comprehend how people can be so cruel,” she declares.
