John HoltPolice In Helicopter Vinyl LP

Released in 1983 on labels such as Greensleeves Records and VP Records, this music release features John Holt, former lead singer of The Paragons. Produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes with his signature deep-roots and dancehall-tinged production style, the recording is backed by heavy basslines and reggae rhythms from The Roots Radics. The title track acts as a political and cultural anthem protesting police and military crackdowns on marijuana cultivation in Jamaica, featuring the chorus: "If you continue to burn up the herbs, we're going to burn down the cane fields."
