A landmark recording from one of Ghana’s greatest musical architects, Ebo Taylor’s 1977 self-titled album marked his first solo LP after years of shaping modern highlife from behind the scenes as a guitarist, arranger, and composer.

Blending traditional Ghanaian highlife with funk, soul, and jazz influences, the album—originally released on Essiebons—features rich horn arrangements and deep, infectious grooves, later rediscovered as a cult classic. This reissue presents newly restored and remastered audio by The Carvery and See Why Audio, along with new liner notes including an interview with Taylor’s son, Henry Taylor.
