Fabiano Nascimento - Solstice Concert Vinyl LP

On June 21, 2023, LA-via-Rio guitarist and composer Fabiano do Nascimento joined forces with Leaving Records and a circle of local contemporaries for a one-night-only solstice performance at a historic venue in Northeast Los Angeles. Intended as an intimate, seated concert showcasing a selection of his own works alongside pieces by beloved composers, the evening was unknowingly captured straight from the board, resulting in Solstice Concert—a raw, unfiltered document of the night’s synergy. Featuring do Nascimento on 7-string and soprano guitar with electronics, Sam Gendel on soprano and MIDI saxophones, Gabe Noel on electric bass, and Tamir Barzilay on drums and percussion, the ensemble delivered a luminous set of improvisation and interplay. With art direction by Gendel and mastering by Matthewdavid, the recording stands as a serendipitous full-length album, a shimmering testament to the spontaneity and communal spirit of the solstice.
