Pino Palladino, Blake Mills - Notes With Attachments Vinyl LP

Bassist Pino Palladino and multi-instrumentalist and producer Blake Mills have announced their new collaborative album, Notes With Attachments, set for release on March 12 via New Deal / Impulse!. The pair have also shared the first single, “Just Wrong,” accompanied by a music video. “With a song like this, built in layers, at various points you look around and go: what is this? Where is the composition? Sometimes you end up drawing the blueprints of the house after it’s fully been built,” Mills said of the track. Palladino added, “It all evolved from me playing Blake a few ideas, seeing his reaction, and discovering if he’d be interested in developing them. As the project progressed—even though much of the music came from my original ideas—it became clear that this would be a true collaborative record.” Recorded in stages over more than two years, Notes With Attachments features contributions from drummer Chris Dave, saxophonists Sam Gendel, Marcus Strickland, and Jacques Schwartz-Bart, and keyboardist Larry Goldings, among others.
