Released in September 1970 on his own Curtom Records, Curtis is the debut studio album by American soul musician Curtis Mayfield. Produced by Mayfield, the album marked a departure from his previous pop-soul sound with The Impressions, embracing a funk and psychedelic-influenced style. Curtis incorporates political and social themes of the era, topping the Billboard Black albums chart and reaching number nineteen on the Billboard Pop albums chart. Its single "(Don't Worry) If There's a Hell Below, We're All Going to Go" charted in the U.S., while "Move On Up" found success on the UK Singles Chart.
